Compress Images for Email, Discord & WhatsApp
Attachment limits and slow uploads are the usual reason to shrink a photo. NeedAnyTool processes files entirely on-device — nothing is uploaded to a server. Use the Compress Image tool, then verify the file size in your chat or mail client before sending.
Email (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo)
Many providers cap attachments around 20–25 MB per message, but large photos still slow delivery and may be rejected by corporate filters. Aim for under 1–2 MB for everyday sharing unless you need print quality.
- Start by resizing to the display size (e.g. 1200 px wide for inline viewing)
- Compress JPEG at 75–85% quality — often halves file size with little visible loss
- For screenshots with text, PNG or WebP may stay sharper at similar sizes
Discord
Discord applies upload limits that depend on your plan and context (server boost level, Nitro, etc.). If an upload fails, compress and resize before retrying.
- Resize wide photos to 1920 px or less before compressing
- Use JPG for photos; PNG for UI screenshots with small palettes
WhatsApp recompresses images on send. Starting with a smaller source file often looks better than sending a huge original that gets aggressively compressed server-side.
- Export around 1600 px on the long edge for chat photos
