Frequently asked questions

Does this actually remove the text?

Pages with redaction boxes are rasterized and those areas are filled with black, so the original text and images under the box are not in the downloaded file. Unmarked pages are copied as-is. This is not a forensic sanitizer for every metadata channel.

Is it safe for confidential documents?

Yes. Your file is processed entirely within your browser and never leaves your device.

Can I undo the redaction later?

No. Once applied and downloaded, the redacted data is permanently destroyed in the new file.
