No. This uses component encoding (encodeURIComponent). Encoding an entire URL including :// will escape the separators too, so encode individual parameter values instead of the whole address.
Which characters get encoded?
Everything except letters, digits, and the unreserved marks - _ . ! ~ * ' ( ). Spaces become %20, and reserved characters such as &, =, ?, #, and / are escaped so they cannot break the query string.
Why did a plus sign turn into a space when decoding?
Form submissions encode spaces as +, so decode converts + back to a space. If you need a literal plus in a value, encode it as %2B.
Why does decoding fail sometimes?
An incomplete or invalid percent sequence — a lone % or something like %zz — cannot be decoded. The tool reports it instead of returning mangled text.
Can I both encode and decode here?
Yes. One page covers URL encode and URL decode — switch the mode for the direction you need. Pair with HTML Encode / Decode when you need entity escaping instead of percent-encoding.
Is my input uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a NeedAnyTool server for these tools.
