- Does my data get uploaded?
- No. Payload text is encoded locally in your browser. We do not receive the contents of your QR codes.
- Do these QR codes expire or need a subscription?
- No. Every code here is static: the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so it keeps working forever with no redirect service behind it. The trade-off is that you cannot edit the destination later or see scan statistics — regenerate the code if the details change.
- Can I print the QR code?
- Yes. Download the PNG and print at a size large enough for scanners to read comfortably — typically at least 2–3 cm on each side for simple payloads. The exported PNG is 280 pixels square, which is fine for small labels and on-screen use; scale it up in your design tool for posters and keep the light margin around the code intact.
- What does “text to QR code” mean here?
- The QR payload is plain text. When scanned, the device shows or copies that text — it does not open a website unless the text itself is a URL. For links, use Website QR instead.
- Can I add visible text on top of the QR image?
- No. This tool encodes text inside the QR payload and does not overlay a caption or logo on the PNG. Add captions in your design tool, outside the light quiet zone, so scanners still read the code.
- How much text can one QR code hold?
- This tool accepts up to 2,000 characters. Long text makes the pattern much denser, so print it larger or lower the error-correction level if phones struggle to lock on.
