Scan a QR Code in Your Browser (Camera)
Scan a QR code in your browser with the camera — decode codes on-device, free, no app install, no upload, no signup.

You do not always need a separate scanner app. Scan Code uses your device camera in the browser to read QR and common barcodes — free, private, and on-device, with no signup.
Frames are processed locally. That matters when the code contains Wi-Fi credentials, contacts, or internal URLs you would rather not send to a cloud scanner.
When to use
- Decode a printed QR when your phone’s default camera is awkward on desktop
- Quickly check a code you just generated with Website QR or Text QR
- Read barcodes at a desk webcam without installing software
- Verify event or packaging codes before a large print run
Step-by-step
- Open Scan Code on a device with a camera.
- Allow camera permission when the browser asks.
- Point at the QR or barcode until it locks and decodes.
- Copy or open the result as appropriate for the payload type.
- If you only have a screenshot, switch to Scan from Image.
Good lighting and a steady hold help more than zooming until the code blurs. For generating new codes after a scan, jump to Website QR or Wi-Fi QR.

FAQ
Why won’t the camera start?
Check site permissions in the browser, use HTTPS, and confirm no other app has exclusive camera access. Some desktops need an external webcam.
Does it read barcodes as well as QR?
Scan Code is built for QR and common barcode formats supported by the tool. Exact coverage depends on the code type and image quality.
Can I scan from a saved photo?
Yes — use Scan from Image when you already have a file instead of a live camera feed.
Do I need an account?
No.
