- Which colour formats are accepted?
- Hex in 3-digit (#f80), 6-digit (#ff8800), or 8-digit form with alpha, plus rgb() / rgba() and hsl() / hsla(). The leading # is optional, and all three equivalents are returned at once.
- Is transparency supported?
- Yes. An alpha channel from 8-digit hex, rgba(), or hsla() is preserved and carried into the other notations. Alpha can be given as a 0–1 decimal or a percentage.
- What is the difference between RGB and HSL?
- RGB mixes red, green, and blue light in the 0–255 range, which is how screens work. HSL describes hue in degrees plus saturation and lightness percentages, which is easier when you want a lighter or more muted version of the same colour.
- Is this an image color picker?
- No. Use the Image Tools Color Picker to sample pixels from a photo. This tool converts typed colour values only.
- Does it convert CMYK or Pantone?
- No. CMYK depends on ink, paper, and colour profile, and Pantone is a licensed matching system — neither converts accurately from a screen value, so this tool stays with HEX, RGB, and HSL.
- Is my input uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a NeedAnyTool server for these tools.
