- Is the Location QR generator free?
- Yes. You can create and download QR codes with no account and no per-export fee for standard use.
- Does my data get uploaded?
- No. Payload text is encoded locally in your browser. We do not receive the contents of your QR codes.
- Do these QR codes expire or need a subscription?
- No. Every code here is static: the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so it keeps working forever with no redirect service behind it. The trade-off is that you cannot edit the destination later or see scan statistics — regenerate the code if the details change.
- Can I print the QR code?
- Yes. Download the PNG and print at a size large enough for scanners to read comfortably — typically at least 2–3 cm on each side for simple payloads. The exported PNG is 280 pixels square, which is fine for small labels and on-screen use; scale it up in your design tool for posters and keep the light margin around the code intact.
- What coordinate format should I use?
- Decimal degrees, such as 51.5007 and -0.1246. Convert degrees-minutes-seconds first, and use negative numbers for southern latitudes and western longitudes.
- Where do I find the latitude and longitude?
- In Google Maps, right-click the spot on desktop or long-press on mobile and the coordinates appear at the top of the menu, ready to copy in the right order: latitude first, then longitude.
- Does it work on both iPhone and Android?
- Android handles geo: links natively and opens Google Maps. iOS support varies by scanner app — if you need guaranteed behaviour on iPhone, use a Website QR pointing at a maps link instead.
- Can I add a place name or label?
- No. The payload carries coordinates only, so print the venue name next to the code on your sign or flyer.
