- Is the Phone QR generator free?
- Yes. You can create and download QR codes with no account and no per-export fee for standard use.
- Does my data get uploaded?
- No. Payload text is encoded locally in your browser. We do not receive the contents of your QR codes.
- Do these QR codes expire or need a subscription?
- No. Every code here is static: the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so it keeps working forever with no redirect service behind it. The trade-off is that you cannot edit the destination later or see scan statistics — regenerate the code if the details change.
- Can I print the QR code?
- Yes. Download the PNG and print at a size large enough for scanners to read comfortably — typically at least 2–3 cm on each side for simple payloads. The exported PNG is 280 pixels square, which is fine for small labels and on-screen use; scale it up in your design tool for posters and keep the light margin around the code intact.
- Does scanning place the call automatically?
- No. The number appears in the dialer and the person taps to call, so an accidental scan never dials anyone. That confirmation step is built into iOS and Android, not something the code controls.
- Should I include the country code?
- Yes, for anything customers might scan while travelling. A local-format number like 555 010 0100 only dials correctly from inside that country, whereas +1 555 010 0100 works anywhere.
- Phone QR or vCard QR — which should I print?
- Use a phone QR when you want one action: call this number. Use a vCard QR when you want the scanner to save your full details — name, organisation, email, and website — into their contacts.
