- Can I print the QR code?
- Yes. Download the PNG and print at a size large enough for scanners to read comfortably — typically at least 2–3 cm on each side for simple payloads. The exported PNG is 280 pixels square, which is fine for small labels and on-screen use; scale it up in your design tool for posters and keep the light margin around the code intact.
- Is this the same as the WhatsApp Business QR code?
- It produces the same kind of wa.me chat link, generated here without signing in to WhatsApp. The difference is that codes created inside WhatsApp Business are tied to that account’s tools; this one simply opens a chat with the number you enter.
- How should I format the number?
- Put the country code in its own field without the plus sign and the rest of the number beside it. Any spaces, dashes, or brackets are removed for you, and a missing or doubled country code is the usual reason a wa.me link fails.
- Does the recipient need to save my number?
- No. That is the main advantage — scanning opens a chat thread directly, even though neither side has the other saved as a contact.
- What if the person does not have WhatsApp installed?
- The link opens WhatsApp’s web page prompting them to install it. Pair the code with an SMS or phone QR if part of your audience may not use WhatsApp.
