- Yes. You can create and download QR codes with no account and no per-export fee for standard use.
- Does my data get uploaded?
- No. Payload text is encoded locally in your browser. We do not receive the contents of your QR codes.
- Do these QR codes expire or need a subscription?
- No. Every code here is static: the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so it keeps working forever with no redirect service behind it. The trade-off is that you cannot edit the destination later or see scan statistics — regenerate the code if the details change.
- Can I print the QR code?
- Yes. Download the PNG and print at a size large enough for scanners to read comfortably — typically at least 2–3 cm on each side for simple payloads. The exported PNG is 280 pixels square, which is fine for small labels and on-screen use; scale it up in your design tool for posters and keep the light margin around the code intact.
- Is the text sent automatically when scanned?
- No. The messaging app opens with the number and text filled in, and the person taps send. That keeps an accidental scan from messaging you.
- Do all phones pre-fill the message body?
- Most modern iOS and Android messaging apps do, but a few older apps or third-party SMS clients open the thread with the number only and drop the text. Keep the intended message short and test on both platforms before printing a large run.

- SMS works on any phone with no app required, which suits broad audiences and shortcode campaigns. WhatsApp is better where your customers already chat there and you want the conversation in one thread.
