Privacy Policy

Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how the NutraLens Android application (application ID com.nutralens.app) handles information. NutraLens is a personal nutrition tracking app. It is provided by iCorp Overseas Consulting Private Limited under the Need Any Tool brand. Need Any Tool is the Google Play developer name. Website: https://needanytool.com. Contact: icorpplaystore@gmail.com. This policy applies only to the NutraLens mobile app. The Need Any Tool website at https://needanytool.com may have a separate privacy policy covering information collected through the website.

Information stored on your device

By default, NutraLens keeps your diary on the device in a local database. That can include:

• Profile details you enter: name, date of birth, sex, height, weight, activity level, goal, diet, allergies, and restrictions
• Daily calorie and macro targets
• Meals, custom foods, recipes, planned meals, water, and weight entries
• Reminder times and app settings (units, theme, photo retention, Health Connect toggle, cloud consent)
• Optional local thumbnails of meals you choose to save
• On-device event names such as scan started or meal saved, used only to operate the app. These events are not sent to an advertising or analytics company

The app is configured so this diary is not included in ordinary Android Auto Backup. Uninstalling the app, or using Delete all local data in Settings, removes local records from that device.

Meal photos and AI analysis

If you photograph a meal or choose a gallery image for analysis, a compressed copy of that image is sent to a NutraLens server function. That function calls a third-party vision model (Google Gemini) to estimate foods and portions. Estimates can be wrong. You should review them before saving. NutraLens does not keep raw meal photos on our servers by default. You can choose not to save a local thumbnail. Deleting a meal removes the stored thumbnail when one exists. Photo analysis requires a cloud session. If you are not signed in with email, the app may create an anonymous guest session so we can enforce a daily scan limit. That is not a public, unauthenticated AI endpoint.

Optional account and cloud snapshot

Creating an email account is optional. Authentication is provided by Supabase. A cloud snapshot of diary data is uploaded only if all of the following are true: you have an active Premium entitlement, you opt in, and you use the snapshot controls. Snapshots are stored per account. Guest/anonymous sessions exist to enforce scan quota; they are not a full cloud backup.

Food databases and subscriptions

Food search may send your search text to USDA FoodData Central through our server. Barcode and some name lookups may query Open Food Facts. We send the query or barcode needed to return results, not your full diary. If you buy Premium, Google Play Billing and RevenueCat process the subscription. We do not receive your full payment card number. Entitlement status may be checked with RevenueCat so the server can apply the correct daily AI scan limit.

Health Connect

Health Connect is optional. If you enable it in Settings and grant Android permissions, NutraLens may write nutrition and weight records and may read weight and steps. Core diary tracking works if you decline.

How we use information

We use information:

• To calculate targets, show diary totals, and operate scanning, search, recipes, and planning
• To enforce the daily AI scan allowance (3 per day on Free, 40 per day on Premium when entitlement is active)
• To provide optional account, snapshot, and Health Connect features you turn on
• To process subscriptions you purchase through Google Play

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use meal photos or diary contents for advertising.

Sharing

We share information only as needed to run the features you use:

• Google Gemini — compressed meal images you submit for analysis
• Supabase — authentication, scan quota, optional snapshots, and account deletion
• USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts — search text or barcode
• Google Play and RevenueCat — subscription purchase and entitlement
• Android Health Connect — nutrition, weight, or steps if you enable that integration

Those providers process data under their own terms. They may operate servers outside your country.

Retention

How long information is kept:

• On-device data remains until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear app storage
• Anonymous scan-quota rows are stored per guest identity for the UTC day used
• Optional cloud snapshots remain until you delete the cloud account or we process a valid deletion request
• Subscription records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat as required to provide billing

Your choices and deletion

You can:

• Export a JSON backup or CSV from Settings
• Delete all local data in Settings (returns the app to onboarding on that device)
• Delete the cloud account in the app: Profile → Settings → Account and sync → Delete cloud account. That removes the authentication user and the snapshot and quota rows we store. Local diary records stay on the device until you delete them there
• If you cannot open the app, email icorpplaystore@gmail.com from the address used for your NutraLens account and ask us to delete the cloud account. Do not send meal photos or passwords

If a cloud deletion request fails, the app must not report success.

Children

NutraLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly create cloud accounts for children under 13. If you believe we have such an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product changes. The “Last updated” date on this page will change when we do.
