NeedAnyTool ("we", "our", or "us") provides the StudyAI mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

1. User-Provided Study Content:

When you input study notes, paste text, upload PDF documents, or snap photos of textbooks, this content is transmitted to our secure cloud servers to generate summaries, flashcards, and quizzes.

  • We do not use your personal study notes or uploaded documents to train public machine learning models.
  • Text and image inputs are processed ephemerally to fulfill your study pack generation and AI tutor requests.

2. Device and Usage Data (Automated):

We and our third-party service providers collect standard technical diagnostics, including:

  • Device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and language settings.
  • Anonymous crash reports, latency metrics, and feature interaction data.

3. In-App Purchases and Subscription Data:

All payments are processed securely by Google Play Billing via RevenueCat. We never see, collect, or store your credit card or billing details. RevenueCat provides us with an anonymous subscriber ID and active entitlement status ("pro").

4. Advertising Identifiers:

For users on the free tier, Google AdMob may collect and process Google Advertising IDs (GAID) and coarse device data to serve banners, interstitials, and rewarded video ads according to your consent preferences.

2. Third-Party Service Providers

We utilize trusted third-party SDKs that process data under strict data privacy obligations:

  • Google Play Services & Google Play Billing: In-app purchase verification and core Android services.

  • Firebase (Google Cloud): App Check security attestation and backend infrastructure.
  • Groq Cloud / Google AI Cloud: Server-side natural language and vision processing for study pack generation.

3. Permissions Requested

  • Camera & Storage / Photos (Optional): Required only if you choose to scan physical textbook pages or upload study documents from your device.
  • Notifications (Optional): Used exclusively for your personal daily study goal reminders. You can disable notifications anytime in Settings.
  • Internet & Network Access: Required to perform cloud AI generation, retrieve study analytics, and verify subscription entitlements.

4. Data Retention & Local Storage

  • Your flashcards, quiz progress, study streaks, and Pomodoro focus history are saved locally on your device using an encrypted Room database.
  • You can completely wipe all local data anytime by navigating to Settings > Clear All Study Data.

5. Children's Privacy

StudyAI is intended for students and learners aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date".
